Stitch Fix

Have you heard of Stitch Fix yet?

Its a personal stylist company online, where you create your own style profile and then they send you five items that a stylist picks out based on your profile.  I had signed up about 2 months ago, just to try it out and see what it was all about. Sometimes I feel slightly overwhelmed when I go shopping because I want to dress like I have some knowledge of the current trends but not where I look like I am 16.  I had seen some bloggers showing pictures of what they received and I thought it may be a good way to push me out of my style comfort zone.

You pay a $20 stylist fee upfront but then get to apply that $20 towards an item in your box.  There is also a 20% discount if you decide to keep all 5 things.  I knew that wasn’t going to be an option when the box arrived in 31 days of No spend October!

However I was still super excited to try on what they had sent.  The best thing about this is that they send you a prepaid shipping bag to send any pieces you don’t want to keep within 3 days.  It was beyond easy!

So here is what came in my first stitch fix box!

1. Blue top with lace at the top- I really likes this but it was a little too short for me, and I already have a lot of navy tops. SENT BACK

2. Orange geometric top-  When I opened the box I was like I will not keep this, but I was surprised how much I actually liked it.  The prices was a little too high for me for a top.  SENT BACK

3.  Black Cardigan- Loved this piece but I already had a black cardigan.  Loved the length and the weight of it. SENT BACK

4.  Blue and White striped top- I loved this top so much, the sleeves, the fit, the length.  Even though its navy, I LOVE it!  The price was right as well! KEEP

5.  Floral Dress- This dress was a little too tight and short for me.  I had to try it on with leggings, the print was cute though and it would have looked good with boots and a sweater layered over it. SENT BACK

I was really happy with my overall experience, I asked the stylist to push me out of my comfort zone with one piece.  Which she did with the orange modern print top.  I wish it was just a size larger and not as expensive.  Mind you the pieces were not TJMaxx prices but the experience of trying on different top shapes that I normally wouldn’t gravitate to at the store was worth it.  Sending all the stuff back was a piece of cake, just put it in the prepaid shipping bag and dropped it off at the post office within 3 days.  Super easy!!!

As you can see each piece comes with a stylist card to show you different pieces you can pair with your item.

When I went online and gave feedback to my stylist on each piece, I scheduled one more box to come the first week of December, in hopes of finding a cute holiday outfit.

If your looking for a wardrobe pick me up, or just want to get pushed a little bit in your clothes choice, this is the solution!
